$2.99 G.I. Joe Action Figures
Yesterday’s Madballs ad collides with a G.I. Joe ad I shared over the weekend as we see Airtight and the Crimson Guard action figures used to represent the entire 1986 line of G.I. Joe figures. I remember paying $3/figure and being so totally happy with the toys back in 1986.
That’s all I remember paying when I was deep into buying them. $2.99 ($3.12 w/tax) at Rose’s and Ames. I remember being shocked when I went into a Boscov’s and found the new Battle Corps Beach Head and he cost $5.99.
Granted, Boscov’s was more expensive in general, but it didn’t seem like it took long for the prices to creep up everywhere else.
@Chris Mapp – $3 is what I remember for both G.I. Joe and Star Wars action figures back then. That’s why the 2 for $5 and 3 for $6 deals stand out in my mind so much; those were special prices in my mind when I was ten or so.
