“Where are we? What are we?”

Out of a 1994 issue of Shadis magazine comes this full-page advertisement for one weird roleplaying game: Khaotic*, billed as “A Schizotronic Role Playing Game.”

You know how in most roleplaying games each player has a character in the game? Well, in the Khaotic* RPG, all of the players share one character, fighting for control and trying to work as a group to work through the adventure. I don’t think the game was any sort of huge success or anything, but it is certainly strange and memorable.
