1996 Doom Trooper CCG Advertisement
Fans of the Mutant Chronicles series* will get a kick out of this ad from an issue of the old Acclaim Comics Mutant Chronicles comic book. This ad is a perfect snapshot of graphic design in the mid-nineties, with that Doom Trooper portion of the advertisement virtually unreadable because of the background texture behind the artwork. Desktop publishing may have revolutionized the world, but I think that we can safely that we had to wade through a lot of bad designs before we truly enjoyed the benefits of computer layout programs.
