Karate Kid and Ghostbusters Action Figures

Here’s another ad that is almost like a ToysRUs ad that I shared earlier this year. I love the slight variations in the ads that appear to be a regional thing, such as this ad that includes Kenner’s Ghostbusters action figures where the earlier ad had Thundercats. Was this a sales situation where some lines performed better than others across the U.S., or was something else guiding the design of these ads?
