Remco’s Sgt. Rock Action Figures on Sale in 1983
December 14, 1983. As Hasbro’s G.I. Joe rocketed up sales charts in the early eighties, Remco worked closely with DC to license their Sgt. Rock character and devise a “for use with” action figure line that, hopefully, G.I. Joe collectors would embrace and mix with Hasbro’s action figures and vehicles. The Sgt. Rock line was never a huge success, but ads like this one and others we have seen before show that Remco threw a lot at trying to make the line work at retail.
