November 25, 1979. The best part of watching Marvel try to take their characters to a mass audience in the seventies was how fast the company was willing to approve odd licenses. For example, the below two ad blocks featuring both Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk in some of the least likely products imaginable. And don’t let the ad text fool you, kids, because if you look closely, that woodburning set also features the Hulk. Who thought it was a good idea to give the Hulk a hot metal instrument? Hulk burn puny wood!!!
