“Solaris VII is a boxed supplement for use with BattleTech and Mechwarrior!”

This 1991 advertisement for Fasa’s BattleTech series (find at Amazon.com*) comes from the back cover of an issue of White Wolf magazine and introduces one of the boxed sets I never owned . . . but definitely one that I wanted. Solaris VII is the game’s world for dueling — one-on-one gladiatorial events between mechs — and the concept always struck me as bringing a little Car Wars into the BattleTech world. It’s a shame that I never got the box when I was younger, and it is a crime that I haven’t corrected that error today.
