Tomy Fashion Plates Design Kit

This 1981 K-Mart newspaper ad gives us another look at Tomy’s Fashion Plates, the artistic design kit where kids were given the chance to design and illustrate high fashion outfits. Compare the toy’s price in this ad to the one below, and you’ll quickly see that the toy was falling in price the longer it sat on shelves. Still, looks totally awesome and I would happily buy one if I could find a good deal on the original.
