G.I. Joe in 3-D!

Time to go back to 1987 and Blackthorne Publishing’s series of 3-D comic books, this time with an advertisement for the second issue of the company’s G.I. Joe comic book series. The yojoe.com archives show that there were a total of seven issues in this series of 3-D comics, meaning that I am not awfully tempted to chase these down and see just how bad they truly are. Maybe it is unfair of me to instantly assume that the series was bad, but there’s nothing in this ad that makes me stop and state: “Man, that looks fantastic.” If anything, the ad leads me to the opposite conclusion. Unfairly, maybe, but it’s the truth.
