Battery-Operated Batmobile and Spider-Man Car
December 14, 1980. Why did Spider-Man have a car in the seventies and eighties? Because the toymakers thought that kids — who already loved Batman’s Batmobile — would want a toy car for Spider-Man. And they were right! I know comic purists are against the idea of a “Spidermobile,” but I love the idea and design. What kid wouldn’t want a Spider-Man battery-operated car in 1980?
