Matchbox Robotech Action Figures at ToysRUs in 1986

July 6, 1986. The Matchbox Robotech action figure line would have been about a year old at this time, and it was right about 1986 when the series started to take off in the U.S. and capture the attention of me and my friends. Sure it was the Palladium Robotech roleplaying game* that more came to mind way back then, but it’s still fun to spot these old Matchbox toys hiding in ToysRUs advertisements from the eighties. This one comes from the Cincinnati Enquirer, and now I’m left asking: What other Matchbox Robotech toy ads may be out there in the newspaper archives?
