July 28, 1985. Two years after the release of Return of the Jedi, we find this ad block for Return of the Jedi coloring books on sale in the Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper. I suspect that the demand for Star Wars coloring books was near-zero by this time, though I can admit that I’d buy multiples at less than a buck apiece. And as for the Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake coloring books also on sale in this ad? Yep. I’d also buy those! Clear a path, gang, I’m in search of inexpensive coloring books this morning.
