“Neat new cars turn into robots!”

September 22, 1984. Here’s a K-Mart ad for the Hasbro Transformers from the Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Sentinel newspaper that we need to step back and enjoy. Who thought up the “neat new cars turn into robots” phrase and how did they think that showing us one of the worst of the first generation Autobot cars, Ratchet, went well with that wording? At least show us an awesome car mode, like Wheeljack or Sideswipe, so that we can all agree that the cars are neat.
