Image United #1 This Week

Image United, the massive crossover comic that brings together the bulk of the original Image Comics founders, is scheduled to start this Wednesday. I’m curious about this upcoming crossover event, but I’m not holding out much hope for anything more than a simple storyline with some excellent artwork.

I haven’t been following this event all that closely, but there’s a ton of art, interviews, and info over at the official Image United website. I know I probably should research the series before dropping my $4 on the first issue, but I think I’d rather just be surprised and risk the $4.

I don’t buy a lot of comics, but it looks like this is another one of those weeks when it’s time for me to make a trip to the comic shop. After all, it’s possible that this comic will completely shock me and the story will be as well-produced as the artwork.

Probably not, though. At least not if this online preview is any indication of what we should expect.
