“A Bold New Science-Fiction Trilogy from TSR”
I’ve spent the last month or so sharing ads and covers from TSR’s Buck Rogers XXVc* roleplaying game from 1990 and 1991, trying to make absolutely certain that the internet has better quality versions of the materials online for all to enjoy. The limited amount of information about the game that is online baffles me — was it truly such a poor performer at retail that the web has only a handful of articles about the game? — but at least I know I’m doing my part to increase awareness of the game.
This 1990 advertisement comes from August of that year, just two short months after the game was released to stores (as documented here), and today’s ad shows the launch of a second trilogy of Buck Rogers XXVc novels. The novels are still fairly easy to find, and cost considerably less than some of the RPG supplements, so if you’re in search of some sci-fi entertainment, maybe give the XXVc novels* a shot. I have recently started re-reading the first of TSR’s Buck Rogers trilogies (ad posted here), and next I’ll have to track down the Inner Planets trilogy that’s shown in the below ad.

Again, you’re finding stuff I didn’t even know was out there. Super interested to learn more!
@Jay – I need to find a good use for this stuff. Maybe a book about forgotten/obscure RPGs is one of my next projects.
YES! I’m already squirreling away cash for that Kickstarter!
P.S. If a full book is in store, would another round of the Offline Battlegrip zine be in order as well? I still gawk at those, amazed by how well produced they are.
