A Guide to Classic Masters of the Universe Toys?

Dark Horse has the Masters of the Universe art book* set for release later this year, but as of today I still do not own a guide to the classic eighties Masters of the Universe toys. This is a damned shame and a crime against my library, because such a book is the one giant hole in my collection of toy references and that hole needs to be filled!

Well, we may finally be seeing the book we need. Mark Bellomo — author of The Ultimate Guide to Vintage Star Wars Action Figures, 1977-1985* and the Transformers: Identification and Price Guide* has written on Facebook:

Hurm. Perhaps it’s time to pitch that vintage MOTU/POP guide?

Yes, Mark, it is definitely time.

If I can be of any help at all don’t hesitate to let me know!

  1. I managed to get a copy of The Power and Honor Foundation Catalog Volume 1 and it’s a treasure in my book collection. I love it. I look forward to the Dark Horse book – especially because I’m friends with Tim Seeley and because Power and Honor worked on it as well. And I agree that some sort of book should already exist.

  2. A book like this is sorely needed. With something like that, I might be able to finally figure out who all those weapons and accessories belong to! If Bellomo doesn’t do this, maybe another fine book by Philip Reed is in order???
