A Trip to Kidrobot
Last night, while wandering New York, Gina and I went to the Kidrobot store which, while nice, tried to hard to be a designer, artistic store. Stark white walls, mirrors, lots of lighting, pretentious employees, the store had it all . . . except heart or a love for toys. Bouncers in suits at the door, employees telling customers that the toys were fine art and collectible, where the hell was the “toy” in the toy store?
It was a neat place to visit, and I did grab a few toys that I’ve never seen in Austin, but overall the sterile feeling kinda made the store no fun.
And they got upset when I started snapping pictures.
