Awesome, is the first word that came to mind when I saw this new Dante’s Inferno Dante’s Scythe Letter Opener* over at Entertainment Earth. I don’t exactly use letter openers, but that doesn’t stop me from loving the look of this particularly wicked design. And the $14 price point is impressive; I suspect this isn’t exactly a high-quality piece, but it sure looks neat.

Dante’s Scythe letter opener, is 8 1/2-inches long, cast with the highest quality stainless steel and is featured as seen in the video game, Dante’s Inferno, while in long spear mode. Dante’s Inferno is based loosely on the influential classic poem, The Divine Comedy. The game takes you on an epic quest of vengeance and redemption through the Nine Circles of Hell. Dante, a veteran of the Crusades, chases his beloved Beatrice and tries to free her soul from Lucifer’s grasp. This authentic miniature replica of Dante’s Scythe is an replica of the weapon wielded by Dante while in long spear mode.
