Gina and I have recently been working our way through all of the Futurama episodes (we’re on season six now) so when I saw this Futurama Monopoly Game* at Entertainment Earth it felt quite fitting; you can’t watch as many episodes of Futurama straight through as we have and not go a little bonkers.
(Totally not related or important, but I feel that Futurama episodes hold up a lot better to the ravages of time than The Simpsons episodes do. I remember not really being all that impressed with the pilot episode when it first aired, but over a decade later I find the entire series just more fun than The Simpsons.)
The Futurama Monopoly Game combines classic risk-taking, deal-making Monopoly play with edgy wit and humor, and allows fans to buy properties across the four corners of the Futurama universe in the year 3000. The game features 22 popular Futurama locations and custom Futurama illustrations provided by creator Matt Groening. There are 6 collectible game tokens: Bender, Seymour, Brain Slug, What If Machine, Planet Express Ship, and Hypnotoad. Custom Resi-Domes and People Hives replace traditional houses and hotels. Futurama Monopoly features traditional Monopoly gameplay, with a 60-minute speed-play option. For 2 to 6 players. Ages 8 and up.
