Subtitled “The Lone Ranger & Transmedia Brand Licensing” there’s no way I could ignore Selling the Silver Bullet*. Recently published, this 331-page book promises to be an entertaining and fascinating look at early brand building and entertainment licensing. The sample pages posted at Google books caught my imagination and I just had to use some of the cash in the Amazon.com balance to order this. Can’t wait to give this a read!

In his prime, he rivaled Mickey Mouse as one of the most successfully licensed and merchandised children’s properties in the United States, while in more recent decades, the Lone Ranger has struggled to resonate with consumers, leading to efforts to rebrand the property.
