We had a peek at some fun photos of this set last week (posted here), and I’ve now decided that I will take a chance on the Star Trek Select Captain Kirk Action Figure*. The figure isn’t due for release until next month, but I feel I owe it to both Diamond Select Toys and all of you to try one of their action figures again. After the “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” edition of the Card Guard action figure (review here) it’s possible I’ve been a little pre-judgmental on all of the Diamond Select Toys releases. So I’ll try and review this set and leave my previous thoughts on Diamond Select Toys’ action figure quality at the door.
It’s an awesome Star Trek line of action figures designed especially for collectors! This offering is the Star Trek Select Captain Kirk Action Figure! Captain James T. Kirk comes with a part of the Engineering area of the U.S.S. Enterprise, and can be displayed in combat with Khan from the classic episode, “Space Seed.” Khan himself is part of the display base and not removable. Packaged in display-friendly Select packaging, each 7-inch scale figure in the Star Trek Select line comes with a diorama-style accessory and interchangeable parts for a variety of display options.
