Fantasy Flight Games’ Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beginner Game* doesn’t quite address my primary complaint about modern RPGs (see “Tabletop Roleplaying Games are Too Long”), but the boxed set is as close to the “perfect” introductory RPG as I could hope for. Maps, tokens, dice . . . everything needed for new players to adventure in the classic Star Wars universe. And definitely a great gift if you want to introduce kids to tabletop roleplaying games.
