Affiliate Link – Transformers Optimus Prime vs. Megatron 2-Pack

While they may not be the greatest Transformers toys of the year, this upcoming Transformers Optimus Prime vs. Megatron 2-Pack* gives fans another chance to own two classic characters. The Generation Two-styled Megatron doesn’t look quite right — I’m not sure why Hasbro went with the off-white colors on the center section — but for $25 this looks like a decent deal if you still need these designs for your Transformers display.

The legendary rivalry between Optimus Prime of the Autobots and Megatron of the Decepticons bursts into action in the Transformers The Ultimate Battle gift set, featuring 6-inch Optimus Prime, 6-inch Megatron, and a ton of fun!

Leader of the Autobot convoy, Optimus Prime has been synonymous with Transformers since 1984, appearing throughout popular culture and being the favorite toy of many generations of Transformers fans. Represented here as the classic semi truck, Optimus comes armed with his trusty gun and can go undercover when he transforms into a truck. Optimus includes a gun and has a unique “punching” attack action.

As Supreme Commander of the Decepticon forces, Megatron has had to be flexible when it comes to dealing with his enemies, appearing here in a green tank mode inspired by his Generation 2 toy and G.I. Joe comic book appearances. Bristling with military might, Megatron always keeps the Autobots in his sights. But since his new body was created by the likes of a human terrorist organization, can the villain even trust his own new form? Megatron has a spinning blade attack in robot mode, and can turn into a tank for added transforming fun.

  1. I bought this 2 pack back in 2006/7 when it first came out, & I hated it. The “Punching Attack” Optimus is nothing more than a spinning upper chest & he would always pop apart at his waist where his legs connect to his upper body. Save your money & but the Classics Optimus.

Megatron wasn’t that bad, but his spinning arm is useless.

  2. I got this on clearance for 10 bucks at a grocery store a couple years back. These definitely aren’t the greatest versions of the characters, but I felt that was a decent price for them. At 25 bucks, I’d feel hugely let down by this set.
