Affiliate Link – Wasp Predator Action Figure
Okay, so is this a common sorta thing these days? I’ve not been following the NECA Predator action figures as closely as some of you, but seeing the NECA Wasp Predator* already climbing in price at Amazon.com has me wondering just how quickly these designs sell through at retail.
Now I’ve already got this figure (review here), so I am not concerned about finding one, but I am really hoping one of you can give me an idea of how fast the various Predator action figures sell through in stores. Are they always climbing in price so soon after release, or is the Wasp Predator an oddity?
The 11th Series in our #1 selling line of Predators action figures brings new Predators to the hunt! Appearing for the first time ever as an action figure, the Wasp Predator comes from the classic fan film Dead End and includes an amazing new accessory – a staff with an Alien head impaled on the end.

Predator figures are the one Neca property that I do not pass on when I see them in TRU. Maybe 2-4 shipments per line spaced out over the first month of the figures being released are all that make it to the shelves of my local TRU. The price point is a killer but it’s that vs. not getting the figure at all if I see it and pass it up.
They seem to do very well in my area. Aside from the “Lava Planet” Pred, none of them stay on the pegs long.
Thirded. My TRU usually only gets 1-2 shipments of 1 case of the Pred figs, and that’s it. So once they’re gone, they’re gone.
There’s always one or two that pegwarm. Thermal Vision Dutch is still lurking around, but Nightstorm Predator flew off the shelves!
The main thing that annoys me is that some of the “core” characters, like City Hunter and Jungle Hunter are ridiculously hard to get and/or overpriced. I found a Jungle Hunter at retail, but City Hunter has been selling for up to $100 on eBay!!!
It sucks for more casual fans who just want the basics, and don’t want the weird variants — much as I enjoy them myself 🙂
As for myself, I’m hanging for a GiTD Predator 😀
