“After 25 years, UNO is everywhere”
This 1996 AP article was located in the December 8, 1996, issue of the Toledo Blade newspaper. The article is a bit of a puff piece, but it makes an excellent companion to the 1984 article I posted earlier this month. Mattel’s Uno game (find at Amazon.com*) may be everywhere these days, but it’s kinda fun to look to the past and see just how the game got to where it is today.
To learn more about the evolution I recommend Timeless Toys: Classic Toys and the Playmakers Who Created Them*. This is still one of the more entertaining books about toys that I’ve ever read.
