An Exercise in Ugly with Assassin’s Creed Action Figures
The Assassin’s Creed series* continues to expand with new collectibles, and while at Target this past weekend I spotted the new 3.75-inch scale action figures. I had every intention of buying one of the toys (first mentioned here) but then, when holding the different packages, I noticed one problem with every single toy in the series: Ugly, horrific and misshapen faces.
The basic bodies looked pretty good, but all of the faces of the three different figures on the pegs were simply terrible. I can’t understand how anyone approved these designs, since it looked through the package like there were sculpt problems with the faces and not just issues with the paint. I guess this is one set of action figures I no longer have to look for.
Good call out. I spotted these too and thought some assassins and frilly-dressed Italians would look nice on my shelf, but they all look ridiculous. Couldn’t buy any of them.
@Prem1x – I want to like these, so I’ll keep looking when I see them and hopefully I’ll find some better faces. I suppose I should just break down and buy the Square Enix Assassin’s Creed figures since those actually look good.
Wow, those look like…
…wait for it…
ASSassins! Hahahahahahahaaaaaa!
I picked up Cesare and Leonardo, they don’t look too bad. I’ve probably seen 10 different Ezios now and now a single one has had a decent paintjob/sculpt. It took me a while to pick a proper Alcatraz from Unimax’s Crysis line and it’ll probably be the same for Ezio also.
My Cesare does have a gimp foot, though. The disc goes into the heel at an angle instead of straight down, like somebody just jammed it in there, pounded a Dew, and moved on. I’m worried that thing’s gonna tear in time.
I saw these from a distance when I went into Target today. Needless to say, I fled pretty fast as soon as I saw them up close.
