Arkham Horror: The Lord of Nightmares Trilogy
I don’t know what’s going on over in the Fantasy Flights Games offices these days, but someone has decided that it’s time for them to get into novels in a big way. And because one Arkham Horror* trilogy isn’t enough (first trilogy mentioned here) they have announced a second trilogy set in the game world.
Fantasy Flight Publishing is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Dance of the Damned, a novel set in the Arkham Horror universe! Miskatonic University librarian Daisy Walker has just received a letter from an estranged friend, awakening a long-forgotten nightmare of her past. Forced into a deadly search, Daisy must face horrific memories as she attempts to solve a dark mystery. Her fate will soon intertwine with bounty hunter Tony Morgan, tasked with a dangerous job by a secretive employer. Can these two unlikely heroes discover the truth amongst twisted agendas, a sinister cult, and eldritch horror?
It is starting to look like I’m going to be reading a lot of game fiction later this year. I know several people consider fiction based on games to be garbage, but I’ve found that game fiction is just like any other sort of fiction: there are great stories as well as bad stories and all you have to do is search around for the great stuff.
I’m hoping Fantasy Flight is focusing on only producing great fiction.
