Ashley Wood’s “Dropcloth” Joining World War Robot
Ashley Wood’s World War Robot* book is awesome, but nowhere near as awesome as the robot toys that are based on the artwork found in the book. But the teaser pics for the upcoming Dropcloth — shown over at the 3A Production Blog — have me a bit stumped. Is this a Bramble (review here) with new legs? What’s going on with this wacky robot design?

This guy looks great, with a not-quite-a-Bramble design and (as always with 3A) an amazing paint job. Priced at about $100, this 12-inch scale robot looks like a real demonstration of how far 3A has come since launch; they’ve always had great-looking toys but these photos look like they’re leaping ahead in terms of gear and weathering effects.
