August, 2000 and the Star Wars 12-Inch Collector Series Action Figures
I’m not clear on what the business plan was for Lee’s Action Figure News & Toy Review (Amazon.com search*) fifteen years ago, but seeing the number of pages devoted to Hasbro’s Star Wars figures of the time I’m left asking one question: Did they expect Hasbro to pay for ad space? I mean, why would Hasbro ever pay for advertisements when the magazine ran full page “articles” like this one?
I love 4-LOM as much as anyone, and seeing different Star Wars Collector Series* 12-inch scale action figures in detail is cool, but flipping through the magazine I often find myself unsure of if I’m looking at an article or an ad.
