Bandai Robo Machine Micro Catalog
Bandai’s Machine Robo toys of the eighties, known as Tonka’s GoBots in the US, was named Robo Machine for the line’s European release. Why? I’ve no idea at all. There must have been some solid reason to not simply use the Machine Robo name in Europe, but if there is I wish someone would add the reasoning to the Robo Machine page at Wikipedia so that we could get this stuff documented.
Here’s a Robo Machine micro catalog from the eighties that shows many toys GoBots fans will be familiar with . . . only under different names. The Machine Robo and Robo Machine robot names were far less inventive than Tonka’s naming of the GoBots.

Though the majority of my robot toys were Transformers, I had a fair bit of Go Bots too, and see’ing these sure brings back more visceral emotions.
Something about these designs and colors just hits ya right in the feels.
@Court – I know right where you’re coming from. GoBots were never my thing, but these old designs really trigger memories.
