As a kid in the late eighties, I played a hell of a lot of the BattleTech game (find at Amazon.com*) with my friends. What always struck me as strange, though, was how we didn’t try the MechWarrior roleplaying game more than a few times. Our attention always shifted to the tactical combat game; maybe it was just more fun to run robots around the table than to roleplaying pilots? I’ve no clue why MechWarrior never got more of our attention.
