“‘Blade Runner’ cuts deep into American culture”
Ridley Scott’s 1982 Blade Runner (Amazon.com search*) was a box office failure on release, but as the decades have passed by the film has become identified as a masterpiece of cyberpunk cinema.
Today I’m directing your attention to this 1992 newspaper article by N.Y. Times News Service writer Donald Albrecht in which the film’s re-release — one of many versions of the film (see this Wikipedia article) — warranted newspaper time. Hmmm. Now I’m wondering what other newspaper articles may be floating out there that were written years after the film was released in 1982. Time to dig deeper into the Google archives.
