“Care Bear, Strawberry Shortcake creator hoping for new trivia hit” in 1985
Bernie Loomis makes an appearance in this November 26, 1985, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article by Wendy Zellner in which Loomis is described as the creator of Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake. That’s not quite accurate, but Loomis did play a key role in making those brands the powerhouses they are today.
The article is on Loomis’ GLAD agency and its partnership with Hasbro, stating that Hasbro:
” . . . provides the financing and marketing, while Loomis is the king of concepts and the reaper of royalties.”
Hell, I’d love to be the king of concepts and reaper of royalties. That would be fantastic!
