Carrying Cases Now in Stores
After writing “Missing: The Action Figure Carrying Case” last year I’ve been sorta keeping one eye on shelves to see what cases are available to kids these days. It’s still not looking good. I did, however, run across two different carrying cases at Walmart recently and snapped some pics.
- Beywarriors Case – First up is a case for the Beywarriors series (Amazon.com search*). This small case holds four toys and felt a little flimsy. Still, it is a case!
- Hot Wheels Case – Not surprisingly, the Mattel Hot Wheels series (Amazon.com search*) has an awesome carrying case. Wheels. Handle. Holds 100 cars. $20. Damn, it would be awesome if action figures sold as well as Hot Wheels cars.
If there’s any action figure series I expect to see have a case at some point it’s Playmates’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. That entire series keeps performing shockingly well at retail and it’s possible the line has enough sales to support a carrying case.

there’s a cool Skylanders carrying case that I’ve seen at TRU. it resembles a castle tower and, while I haven’t seen it opened, it could double as a playset if one was so inclined.
Say what you will about Playmates and some of their previous endeavours but they know how to run the Turtles line!
