Clash of the Titan’s in Lee’s Action Figure News and Toy Review

As a kid, I didn’t see the Clash of the Titans* movie until it made its way to television. That’s right, not once did I see the film in theaters, meaning that by the time I managed to see it any chance at even wanting the Mattel action figures had long vanished. I did, for a time, have my hands on a Charon action figure — I think this was in 1982 — having traded with another kid to get it. Looking back at the Charon today I can see why I would have wanted it, even if I cannot understand how Mattel thought this was the perfect figure to include in the initial release of Clash of the Titans toys.

Today we get a quick peek at the Clash of the Titans toys as they were featured in Lee’s Action Figure News and Toy Review (find at Amazon.com*) in the summer of 2000. My favorite part of this single-page article has to be the suggested prices; having recently looked at the Kraken online I can say that if you see a MIB copy for only $250 you should grab it. That would be a steal today!

The question now comes down to: Does Charon look cool enough today to chase one down?
