“Come to the Jedi Adventure Center” in 1983
One thing I learned while working on my latest book is that there are more Star Wars newspaper advertisements than we should expect. Toys and films, sure, but there are also ads for such oddities as the Burger Chef posters, corkboards, and even this 1983 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ad for the final weekend of the Star Wars Saga at the North Hills Village Mall. That’s cool and all, but it’s the list of prizes they were offering that is the real treasure in this ad. Have you got your tins, mugs, wastebaskets, toothbrushes, and activity desks?
