“Coming Soon! Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game” in 1987
I’ve shared several ads for the West End Games Star Wars roleplaying game (Amazon.com search*) here at battlegrip.com over the last few years, but today’s ad from the July 1987 issue of Dragon magazine may stand out as the best ad ever. Why is that? Just look at it! This simple ad to announce the then-upcoming Star Wars roleplaying game held so much promise and potential that it sent shivers through me at the time. And today, looking back, I cannot help but be impressed at the number of releases the game saw before West End Games closed their doors.
