Conflicting Sales Reports on the “Star Wars Early Bird Kit” in 1977
I’ve posted about the Kenner Star Wars “Early Bird Kits” before (first post, second post), but today’s discovery is one you’ll want to read closely: Two different retailers in December of 1977 report dramatically different results on the success of the Star Wars “Early Bird Kit” with one saying “they aren’t going too well” as the other states the kit is “doing quite well.”
(Discovered in the December 21, 1977 issue of the Daytona Beach Morning Journal, even if the article is an Associated Press piece and probably in dozens of other newspapers.)
