DC Presses the Reset Button for “Earth One” Graphic Novels
The DC blog has posted pics and info on two upcoming graphic novels, one for Batman and one for Superman.
“Starting next year, DC Comics will unveil SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE and BATMAN: EARTH ONE, two graphic novels spotlighting the most powerful heroes of the DC Universe, with their first years and earliest moments retold in a standalone, original graphic novel format, on a new earth with an all-new continuity.”
I’m not completely sure what this means. Is DC planning a major reset to their entire universe, or are they simply going to publish a series of graphic novels set on this alternate Earth? I guess we’ll know for sure in 2010, but for now all I can say is that I’m interested in learning more about the Batman book. Superman never has interested me all that much, but I might be tempted into trying this if it sounds good.
I’m all for this sort of thing, although it doesn’t always end up suiting my tastes (ie All Star Batman.) But I will probably check out the Batman offering and let the work speak for itself.
Agreed. I like both Johns and Franks’ work… this could be VERY good…
…or VERY bad.
I’m hoping for very good. I like the Batman design. I just hope the story is good. And actually different in some special way.
