DC Universe Hot Wheels Resupply
Yesterday, at our local HEB (a grocery store chain here in Texas), I came across a new wave and restock of the DC Universe Hot Wheels toy cars. I reviewed the Batman car earlier this month (review here), and the car was neat enough that yesterday I grabbed both the Joker and Flash cars. I already have Bane and Green Lantern from earlier purchases, and I am forced to admit that the entire line seems to be well worth snagging if you’re a DC Universe fan.
What was most amazing was how many Batman cars the store had and the fact that these were priced under $3.50/car. That’s a price drop, so either someone at HEB decided to go up against Wal-Mart or Mattel restructured pricing on these cars. Either way, that’s about $1 less per car than I paid when I bought Bane and Batman.

That is insane that they have that kind of stock. Unfortunately we don’t have HEBs in Dallas (I’m not sure if they even go as far north as Waco). In my area Walmart is seems to be the best place to find these, although only about 2/3rds of the stores I’ve been to have them at all.
Even though these have been on the walmart pegs for several months now, none of them in my area have ever stocked anything past wave 2 (Flash, Wonder Woman).
Toys R Us also have a few, also only through wave 2, but they’re asking $4.99 each.
I know I’ve told you how it seems when it comes to action figures, DFW get more new stock, and earlier than the Austin area. Obviously that does not necessarily carry over in the toy car arena.
@clark – HEB has been pretty good to me on several occasions. I don’t know how they do it.
I haven’t seen Wonder Woman or Catwoman, but all of the other cars have been spotted in the Austin area.
