“Design Your Own Model Spaceship”
It was the discovery of this article in the December, 1980, issue of Boys’ Life that made me realize it is wrong that a copy of How to Build Sci-Fi Model Spacecraft* isn’t in my collection. How did I ever miss such a great idea for a book?
Well, what we can do instead of enjoying the book is take a look at this one-page magazine article. The article gives a rough overview of scratch-building kits, and the example sci-fi ship looks heavily-inspired by a Star Destroyer. This is not a bad thing.
A fun article, even if it does have me now itching for time to tackle building my own spaceship model. That’s something that will not be happening, though, so instead I’ll just see if I can chase down a reasonably-priced copy of How to Build Sci-Fi Model Spacecraft*. So far it’s not looking good; just how few copies of that book were printed?
