E.T. Movie success, American consumerism failure. Everyone was certain that the popularity of the E.T. film would translate directly into big money in merchandise, but despite all of the goodies offered for sale in this advertisement from Warren Publishing’s 1994 comic magazine, E.T. merch never was all that hot.
