eBay Users, Stop Bidding Against Me!
So I almost snagged a Masters of the Universe Spydor — MIB — for a very low price on eBay but, as always happens when a deal is too good, someone steps in and takes it from me. Seriously, people, just don’t bid on things I bid on. Is that too much to ask of the world?
To be completely serious, though, losing the auction sent me off in search of this:
Yeah, I definitely want to find one of these. I’m not willing to pay a lot, but if I find a good deal then I’m gonna grab one.
This was a neat vehicle. The new Masters of the Universe figures should look great driving it.
However, it does remind me of the ending to that awful Wild Wild West movie.
I found one of these guys at a flea market one time for 1 buck. It didn’t work… the battery compartment was corroded shut. I pried it open, cleaned it with carbonated water, and scraped the contacts till they were shiny again. Minutes later it was scuttling across the floor like a champ!
Be warned… the legs on these guys are notoriously wobbly where they connect to the body. If yours turns out like this wrap the pegs in some friction tape, instert them in the slots, and it’ll be just fine.
Hours of fun for everyone… except the cats… cats HATE Spydor.
