I’m a fan of glasses (Gina and I have a collection of Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, 7-Up, and A&W glasses and mugs), but character-shaped mugs and steins have never done all that much for me. A set of six of these Vader steins* could be neat, but even at $8 on sale I’m not sure if they’re neat enough to make me snag a set.

“Let Darth Vader watch over your coffee as you drink deeply from the dark side with the Dark Lord of the Sith! Based on the Star Wars saga, this attractive (and oh-so-shiny) black ceramic stein holds 24-ounces of your favorite beverage, but what’s really special is that it features a removable helmet that keeps your drink from getting cold too quickly. Vader will use the Force to guard and keep it at the proper temperature. You’ll enjoy drinking up at home or on the job as this terrific mug grabs the interest of anyone who wanders by!”

Those of you who have been reading the site for several months already know of the glasses collection (mentioned here), but would anyone like to see photos of some of the glasses in our collection? I know they’re not toys, but they are a type of art. (At least I think they’re art.)

  1. I love weird stuff like glass collections. I have a set of pint glasses from Newbury Comics, a local music, comic, novelty chain. Every holiday they’d put out a new pint glass (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, 06-06-06, etc.) and I have just about every one.

You can get a cheaper Darth Vader mug at TRU or Target, I think they’re full of candy or something, but they’re only about $5 I think. I got mine on clearance so it was less.

  2. @PrfktTear – We’ve also got a few branded pitchers (Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper), as well as some very cool glasses from the 50s. One of these days we’ll get some great glass cabinets in the kitchen and display our collection.
