Fantasy Flight Games Announces Star Wars: Empire vs. Rebellion
Fantasy Flight Games has announced a new two player game — that’s only $13! — that I have absolutely no trouble is saying fantastic before I even play the game. Star Wars: Empire vs. Rebellion takes the very fun Cold War: CIA Vs KGB* game engine and drops it into the Star Wars universe, meaning a great universe is now wrapped around a great game mechanic.

Finding wonderful two player games isn’t easy, and for the last six or seven years now (ever since it was released) I’ve been quick to suggest Cold War: CIA Vs KGB* whenever I’m asked for a recommendation for a two player game. The heart of the game is a Blackjack-like mechanic, but there’s a lot more going on as agents compete to control various events.
I’m such a fan of the Cold War: CIA Vs KGB* game that as soon as I started reading the Star Wars: Empire vs. Rebellion description I knew it was a reskin. And this is a good thing! I’m willing to bet more people reading this site are interested in a Star Wars game than a game based on the historical Cold War, so I highly recommend giving this a shot when it’s in stores.
I know I’m getting myself a copy.
Still waiting on that Art of War recommendation to be released too.
@mazintotoro – So am I! I’m hoping they have advance copies of both of these games at Gen Con.
