For a few years now I’ve read and re-read the five collections of Marvel’s old G.I. Joe comics (covering issues 1 through 50) and I’ve been waiting for the day that the sixth volume would be released. Well, December 9th is that day! IDW is giving me what I’ve been wanting.

If you’ve never read these before then you’ll want to start with Classic G.I. Joe Volume 1*. It’s not the best in the series, but it’s the beginning and worth reading if you’re a G.I. Joe fan.

If you’re like me, and already have the first five volumes (whether the reprints or the original volumes from 2002/2003), then you’ll be happy to know you can pre-order Volume 6 at Amazon**. Going to your local comic store will be a better way to go, though, since you can get the book a few weeks before Amazon’s scheduled release date.
