Fingers Crossed! Trying out for the “Coin” Beta Program
I mentioned the “Only Coin” device last year right after I jumped in and pre-ordered one (mentioned here). An electronic gizmo that replaces a wallet of credit cards, the credit card-sized device allows you to load all of your cards into a single gizmo that bluetooths to your phone. It’s a new, weird, and experimental thing, but with as much as I travel for work I could see this being a huge benefit to me.
If it works, of course.
And that’s where yesterday’s mail caught my eye. The “Only Coin” is new and untested, and the creators are launching a beta test project later this year and asked for applications . . . so I jumped in and volunteered. I’ve no idea if I’ll be selected or not, but if they’re looking for a really tough test I think I’m a strong candidate. Between personal cards, office, and the amount of travel I do, how could me swiping their device at credit card machines in multiple cities not be of some benefit to the testing process?
I’m hoping I get selected. I’ll know in April.
