Flooded office? Yay.
I am a bit distracted at the moment and updates will be less common than usual. Our office was flooded and my mental energy is split between that and keeping the company working.
I am very sorry that I didn’t have more content prepared and scheduled. Gen Con wiped me out, and then this water mess stepped in and took what little time/intelligence I had and completely devastated my brain. No one was hurt and this is more of a disruption than a disaster, but it’s important that I make sure the staff is back to work so that we can keep making new games.
When I walked into the office yesterday afternoon I found that staff had tackled my office for me and moved everything so the floor can be assaulted. They’re probably not done, but here’s a pic of what I saw in my office yesterday.
Oh no! Sorry to hear this has happened, what a nuisance!
@Wolf – Thanks. The staff is coming together quickly and we should be making games again by late today or tomorrow.
No idea yet how long the office is going to need for repairs. The water went up into the walls and all over. It smells!
Ugh. Water can be a terrible villain. Best of luck on the cleanup!
@Brian – Thank you! We got out main creative staff settled yesterday and they’re back to work. Today we focus on support staff and try to get some normalcy as repairs are discussed.
Yikes! Hope it’s a quick and not-too-terrible recovery. Water can sometimes be the worst. No worries about posts–the Internet is always open!
@Jay – I figure by next week my life should be back to the insanity levels it was. That will be better than the vampire bat $#!+ crazy of this week.
Gah, good luck! (I’m still missing crap I lost in a flood like nine years ago!)
@googum – I don’t even know what I lost in my office yet. I think the (personal) damage is limited to a few books. I hope.
I really hate to hear this. Floods like this can really be a pain. We’ve had a number of floods at our church (due to some faulty plumbing issues) that have plagued us for a few years. It’s frustrating and time consuming. I hope all goes well in the clean up and that you didn’t lose anything too valuable.
@Barbecue17 – Thanks. Part of tomorrow is going to the office to discuss the renovations and repairs. That’s sure to be a lot more fun than the dentist appointment I have scheduled for later in the day.
Though the dentist is definitely more fun than the flooding headaches. Flooding is expensive!
Ugh… I can definitely sympathize with you. Flooding is the worst. You’re part of an elite club now, just ask Pixel Dan and Jason “Poe Ghostal” Clarke about their experiences with flooding. I’m sure there are others who have had similar experiences. I’m pretty fortunate but my dad’s basement flooded due to the sump not kicking in — never fun. The water dammage sometimes isn’t even the worst part, it’s the mold. Here’s to a quick recovery. Glad nobody was hurt and there was minimal personal loss here.
@PrfktTear – I hate this club. 🙂
Ouch! Sorry to hear about your water woes, I think Noisydvl from itsalltrue also had a flood related mishap too.
