Follow the Further Adventures of G.I. Joe in Marvel Comics

The stories have been collected in several G.I. Joe trade paperbacks over the years (search for “Classic G.I. Joe” on Amazon.com*), but no amount collecting or reprinting will ever match the excitement of being twelve years old and reading the books as they published.

And you certainly can’t top the old commercials for the comic book. After two near back-to-back Zartan reviews (Sigma 6 Zartan review here, Toxic Zartan review here) I set off in search of Zartan commercials and came across this 1984 commercial for issue #25 of the old G.I. Joe comics. I think my next step is to grab the trade paperback with this issue and start reading . . .

  1. I’m actually re-reading the joe comics now (the first time since I was a kid). I picked up the first 8 volumes from my local comic shop and the rest from amazon. They are so much better than I remembered! Truly great reads! And the quality of the reprints is awesome!

  2. @Matthew M – I’ve got the five Marvel reprints and then started getting IDW with volume 6. The work fluctuates a bit, but overall it’s a great read and yeah, better than I was expecting for a toy-driven book I read when I was a kid.
