Force Beam Offer from Star Wars Weekly in 1978
The UK Star Wars Weekly comic books (find at Amazon.com*) mostly reprinted the US Star Wars comics in black and white, and from this 1978 issue the coolest thing we find is an ugly advertisement for a “Force Beam” toy. I love that this ad is on the back cover of an official Star Wars comic and offers up both this knockoff toy and Star Wars jewelry. What a weird combination! You can bet we won’t see ads like this on official Star Wars comics these days.
